Founded in 2012 and licensed with the state of Texas, Sherwood Forest Summer Camp (SFSC) educates and entertains over 500 kids; ages 8-16 each July. SFSC holds 4 camps of 6 days and nights each.
Campers pick a path which includes 6 courses. Example courses include Blacksmithing, Swordplay, Medieval Art, Character Development, Theater, Pottery, Chivalry, Archery, Leatherworking, and more.
Camp provides everything needed from sleeping quarters to three meals per day and 24/7 medical staff.
Week 4 of SFSC is a bit different. 6 clans of ~15 Campers each train Monday through Thursday for competitions on Friday (e.g., King Richard’s Crusaders have a sword fighting competition against Prince John’s Rogues while the Seelie & Unseelie Fae have a costume & character contest).
Emphasis is on winning while remaining friends.
